disconnect negetive side of your battery, pump the brakes to drain excess charge, let car si for 10minutes before reconnecting the battery. restart the car and let it idle for 5-10 minutes, drive the car around and let it learn the fuel map for 10-20 minutes (try to hit different road conditions, different speed limits, on ramps, off ramps, idle, etc). stop. turn it off. ensure clean start......pretty much just like a piggyback ecu.

if the spark plugs are shot, random misfires and/or poor timing can cause the engine to operate unevenly cause it to buck

i understand that much of it (i am cursed with misfires.....5 different cases since this july). in an auto would that feel like a problem assosiated with the tranny? when i had a misfire it was pretty obvious that it was an engine problem and not a tranny issue...then again if you do not know what to look for, what you are saying makes perfect sense.

HOW ABOUT A TUNE-UP?

I have an OZ Auto as well. I get the same thing. It's the ECU knowing the drivers shift intervals. I drive my car hard and rough, so it learns to shift at high rpms. But sometimes i tend to take it easy, that's when it sometimes happens. stay in 2nd gear and just leave the RPM steady. it's as if it misses it's gear change since it's already programmed to shift a certain points. so it " JERKS",

when if first happened to me, it scared me, but it's normal. Just do that ECU reboot and you'll be fine.

Shhhhhiiiii, i need a tune up as well.

Spark Plugs? Could be an issue, but it if were a major one, your car wouldn't start properly.

this is somewhat true, spark plugs can cause a 'jerking' feel and the car would start fine. plugs are very easy to change on this motor. it's simple to eliminate the easiest things. resetting ecu is also helpful, i agree.

I'll reset my ECU in the moring it to cold and I'm too tired right now. If that doesn't work I'll changed my plugs the weekend. BTW Today lighted up on the gas the jerk was still there but soft compared to me hitting the gas. Thanks for the Help, tips and info. I'll keep you posted

^^ like i said earlier, your problem sounds like misfire. before you even bother with the ECU, change your plugs. that should solve your problem. if not, then move on to other things. if it is indeed a misfire, i did a write up on misfire. it is stickied in Engine Tech. it's pretty easy to comprehend. any questions about mis, PM me or IM me. i'll help you out. good luck.

off topic: it's in the high 20's to low 30's right now in NJ and i was working on the car this week. what do you consider cold in FL? hahaha.

EDIT: also make sure that your tranny has been serviced!!! it might be time for new fluids.

High 40s to low 50s plus high winds, yea i know thats not cold but after living down here for the pass ten years your blood gets thin. so you get cold easier plus i work out side all day long.

I changed my plugs and my car definitely seems to run a bit better now... so far no hiccups... of course I haven't driven it much since I changed them over, I'll keep watching for it.

I just had the thing emptied and filled back up/filter changed less than 10,000 miles ago. How often should I have that done?

you should be good then. don't worry about it. recommended service is every 30,000 under normal driving conditions an between 20,000-25,000 if you drive really hard.
