why do all the Mercedes AMG have automatic then? Also porsche comes with tiptronic and they sell like crazzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyy. I heard if you have so much power it is easy to destroy your clutch - my dad did this with his 911 carerra 4 ->not cheap!!!!!!!
:soapbox: the rage is co,moing out again!!
i juts went to the mitsubishi dealer the other day and this si what they say...
i talked to the service rep (some guy in a nice suit) he herd the knocking and this si what he tells me the breather filter you have an the breather valve is making a vaccuume leace(withc is true) becaise the engine has "unmeatered air" with is making the car run a bit on the lean side (withc is also true) so the car is searching for its normal air/fuel mixture witch in doing so it dips and raises in the idle (true) when the idle dips the engine shakes (true) with in tern makes the trany shake( true) with is making something in the trans case rattle together (FALSE!!!) what kind of bull **** i9s that?!?!?! the sound stops when the clutch is pressed in withc means the things inside are still jarring together but te sound strops for some odd reason well anyways i put the dump hose back on withc straighteed out the idle problem withc didnt straighten out the banging now they are telling me it is cause my intake witch made my second o2 senore go retarded witch i dont understand well anyway nowe they say they are gonna start charging me for time and **** but y trans still isnt getting better someone help me before i have to call a lawyer because im about two steps from my phone about to call

I can say I have noticed similar goings ons with my OZ Lancer too. But I can't say that I noticed noise coming from the transmission.
I noticed that if I drive hard and the temperature is just right outside (temp / humidity, etc..) my engine will have a slight shudder to it. Not random but an actual rythym. When I continue driving the quirk goes away.
I haven't had anything looked into because I just figured it was "new car moans and groans". In other words the car was still adjusting to my driving style. It has been a couple of months now since I heard the engine "shudder". I bought my Lancer in November.
I can't say that I have noticed any noise like you are describing. The dealers description of the cause sounds reasonable up to the point he trys to explain the transmission noise...
There I would wonder too. You might have to be a persistant pain just to get the answer that satisfies you. Are there other Mitsu
dealers in your area? Surely the warranty would work there too. Good luck... You might even call Mitsubishi if you are THAT dissatisfied with the service you are getting. Me, I would start with the alternate dealer. (I'm sure they wouldn't like to loose business to a competitor)

To avoid destroying ones clutch, they must first learn how to drive.

remeber the 540il of like 96-98? it had a whole .6 seconds quicker 0-60 time in manual than in automatic, part of the reason most people in here prefer manual is because they can control shift points, the major flaw in standard automatics, the new triptronics are actually threating to make manual's scarce, but I still believe every 14 year old boy must be taught on a clutch and short shifter
