Question towing ability

Okay here goes. I have seen the one other thread about this but the question was never answered. I have a stock 02 OZ with a five speed. I also have a motorcycle that I occasionally race (hence my name) I found a hitch that fits the lancer and it's rated for a 2000lb load but the most I'll be towing is about 600 pounds (bike and trailer together). What, if any, damage will I be doing if I try this? Is it really that much different than if I had three or four people in the vehicle with me? If you have a good reason, other than I should have bought a truck, please gimme a shout. Thanks

That's pretty darn unsafe.... It says in the manual like 6 times not to use the vehicle to tow anything. The lancer has no torque anyways, (or horsepower..) towing 600 pounds will still be a *****....

I can feel my lancer lag with an extra 200 pounds in the car.......
