Car stalled on highway - HELP
Ok so today i was traveling on I 91 south ( i have an AT 02, and there were 4 kids in my car so it was running slow as it is). there was a turn in the highway that lasted about 3/4 of a mile that was pretty tight, and traffic and i were moving at about 70. All of a sudden as the turn ended, and my car started jittering like i had run out of gas. I had half a tank+ so i knew this wasnt the problem. well it kept jittering like i was out of gas, and my rpms kept going down and down even though i would open the throttle. eventually they dropped to 0 and my car stalled on the highway in the fast lane doing about 70, so i rolled into the brakedown lane and stopped in a safe spot.
I tried turning on the car but it just kept trying to start and start (all electrical systems worked fine, and i heard no clanks in my tranny so im assuming it is in ok condition) - it seems like there is no fuel getting into the engine. i had to pay 140$ to have my car towed home, and now its sitting in my driveway. everything seems fine cept it doesnt start
a few months back on this same turn ( i was on my way to NC) the same thing happened, but after slowing down a bit my fuel kicked back in and i was on my way. Was it the high G turn that caused something in my fuel system to go ape??? plus the extra 500 lbs in the back? What gets me mad is how unsafe of a condition i was in, and if its some kind of recal problem, im gona be MAD cause its pretty easy to die on the highway like that. (btw i checked my air filter, exhaust, anything stupid like that and its all fine) Any imput that could save me some $$ would be greatly appreciated rite now. THANK YOU fellow lancer owners!

Sounds either fuel or vacuum related to me. Check ALL your vacuum lines for looseness, cracks etc. Do the same for fuel lines. Might have a bad pump or ballast or something too, or clogged fuel filter.
Interesting. I guess you can say I have the same problem but mine isn't with fuel delivery. For the past week, I've driven my on the highway, nd when i reach about 60 to 70 mph, my car will stall and it feels as if the gears slip on the tranny and then i get a CEL. It's strange, it stays in 3rd gear and i get scared to over rev and blow something... When it happens, I stop the car and when i press on the gas it the tranny doesn't start to grab the gear til about 2000 rpms. I'm driving an Auto 02. So what i do is turn the car off, and restart it and the problem just goes away. But the CEL tends to stick around and turn off whenever it feels like it. Should I take it somewhere to get serviced? I just got a tune=up as well and i still see a CEL.

search the new thread on here called "seafoam"... use it! and also if the problem is fuel delivery.. invest in a walbro 255 fuel pump.... even though it's loud as hell.. it delivers! the stock fuel pump is garbage to me. the stock ones were starving my injectors like crazy.. my plugs were misfiring like crazy as if my car was gonna stall.. but this walbro 255 brought my car back to life... it's very "peppy" now.
