HKS BOV installed. Got almost killed

I got HKS BOv ver2 last night...so happy and installed. runned fine that night. no
stalling no bogging, jsut the same feeling as stock running. but not this morning, THE
ENGIN JUST Fxxxing DIED(BOGGING) ON THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY!!!! :O cars
behind mine, tried to get their *** out of the lane...-.- honked like *****...called me
"assxxx" I barely pulled over my car to emergency lane...thanx to traffic jam, people
were not driving fast..and couldn't start engin for mins.....it scared **** out of me...
then barely made way back home. I tightend the bov screw...then the rpm is acting
weird. like when I raise rpm up to 5~6 then put my gear in neutral to see engin
stalling. It almost hit 0 and rbarely rised to 1 shortly. look kinda unstable.
have u guys ever had this kinda experince wiht HKS SSQV? should iget the
recirculation kit...-.- (want VTA personally) Help guys~~

bogging nad dying? Sounds fishy for a BOV. Never had that problem. I switch between turbo s, 1g bov, and hks. You might want to check your IC piping or make sure the MAS sensor is plug in.

Even with the reric you might still stumble at idle some times. The HKS is a great piece and uses awesome internals and it can hadle like 35-40 psi, but it does have its drawbacks

Get EIDS. My car will barely idle without it.

I heard that the HKS version 2 rec. kit sells for $425.. why so much?.. becuase unlike the regular rec. kit ($15-$20), The version 2 rec. kit is an Evo specific kit that includes all the piping and other necessary "plumbing" that is required for recirculation, as well as the valve itself. It seems as if its a possible solution to having the bov everyone seems to like, and having your Evo perform even better.

Yep he's right. This BOV is NOT for the Evo, it can hold ALOT of boost, but can't handle deceleration worth a damn. Hell you can get into an accident with this thing on your Evo. I suggest you try a MR BOV, Greddy Type S, or a Forge BOV to name a few .

Thanx people....I reinstalled it again....making double check every hose, pipe, I even

wraped the recir hole on intake with duck tape and clamped it, and adjusted the BOV

screw...little tight. what ya know~~~It ran perfectly no strumb, bogging. Idle was

perfect at night after rain. Sound so nice too but lots of flutter . evo is high boost car

even at low rpm....so the bov make "phishshshsooo" sound almost all the time....

now I am afraid of cops. ^_^ I hate MAF sucker....I hope my car will not bog again.

Here is a pic....

Everything was fine that night because
computer was still acting like you had stock bov on,
you need to drive for a while i say 10-15miles,
after computer went to MAF and said, hey WTF... (i dont like VTA :-)

I had that bov, and i wasnt happy with it, even when i recirculated, so i bought type-s greddy- rec, mod spring ( sweet )

VTA? with the MAF? on our cars? not recommended.

i have stumble everytime I shift. never stalled though. yea you will need recirc to rid of it permenantly (pull the batery cable off any time you change something on the car so it can relearn immediatley and let idle for about 10 min.
