That IC upper is the new HKS setup. I have it as well. It looks sweet, but there are definitely issues without an EIDS. I have the Racing suction as well, but for me I have problems with compressor surge. The BOV is working as it should, but the rattlesnake sound coming from my turbo is its death knell.

ahh, the item in the targeted square is the stock BOV eliminator since the BOV is now relocated much further away. I believe this also helps a great deal with the issues that most people experience running VTA. Compressor surge is still bad though HKS, BAD!!!! NO DONUT!!! I am going to fab an airbox and modify my racing suction kit to eliminate the problem.

Also, the recirc kit does not work for this BOV setup, at least, the way it comes. I had to go buy a much longer hose to attempt the recirc. Didn't fix the compressor surge issue, made BOV a little quieter. Went back to VTA since root problem still exists.

ok thanks looks, good. But I am also having surge problems as well, and I have Recirc kit and HKS RS intake too.

O yeah I forgot what the stock intake looks like inside, it's been so long since I've had mine on!

The Mod spring aka Spring Mod he speaks of is for the Type S. it comes with 2 springs and we take the smaller inside spring out so the BOV blows off easier and eliminates most stumble problems.

What does the HKS SSQV sound like with aftermarket intake (HKS RS) ? Is it a whistle or a mutes whoosh? I ahve the HKS RS intake and its a whoosh so far with stock BOV.

I have the HKS RS and SSQV ver 2 kit. The silver fin insert is a high pitched exhale. I have the purple fin which makes a much different whoosh. The plus side of the silver fin is that its volume/pitch is far more noticeable from farther away than the purple fin. But the purple fin sound is more "violent" IMO. I thought the silver fin gets annoying after a while.

To try and type those sounds..

Silver -- seee-yutt
Purple ---shhhh-wwwaaa

Err... I the piece I highlighted in the pic that I wanted to know where u got it from was the plug for the BOV return. Where'd u get that at? I saw your BOV was set up to VTA.

Thanks,D

it sounds like this: http://filebox.vt.edu/users/utara/pictures/evo%20video/
click on engine bay or inside. you will definately hear it!

beware: large files (not for dial-up) and your windows media player should be up to date.
