Turn any automatic into teptronic??

I was browsing the net when I stumbled across this site http://www.tcugo.com/. So after reading up on this, I have few questions that i was wondering if you guys could answer.

1.) Does this sound to good to be true?
2.) Is this just another dumb and pointless mod?
3.) How bad would this **** up my car?

The TCUGO come with 2 buttons. They are intended for UPshift or DOWNshift and are mounted on the steering wheel. The buttons come with a tiny wireless unit which is mounted on the steering column and serve to transmit the signal from these button to the TCUGO main unit. This is preventing the use of wire between the buttons and the TCUGO which could be cumbersome to use or install. With this setup, you're ready to go in no time and preventing all problem related with running the wire from the steering wheel to the TCUGO unit.

Lmfao i mean cmon your shiftin up and down with wats equivalent to volume control buttons lmao

Would definitely like to read more about it.... I don't think the buttons make any difference as to how it functions.... at all. Just a guess... they are only sending a signal to the other part of the mod.... upon checking out their site I did see everything is listed as out of stock....

Just get a manual.. your gearing would still be the same with the same shift points. It might even be slower because the computer that controls the shifting is already set for the optimal rpm's to shift at.

IMO its a waste of money. No matter how much an auto tries it's still an auto and will never be as fast or as fun as a manual. Sure you can say "but they use the same thing in formula 1" but honestly, do you really believe this is anywhere near the same? They also use spoilers and canards in formula 1 but for some odd reason I don't think the pieces of crap you can pick up at Pepboys are the same. Formula one cars are a manual made automatic, not an automatic made manual, thats an important thing to remember. From what I remember F1 cars still have clutches and clutch pedals/levers just in case although that might have changed since I last checked on that.

Definitely ghey. All they did was invent a new way to seperate idiots from their money. My moms intrepid and grandpa's caravan have auto stick and its TOTALLY worthless, same concept here.

some people that ALREADY own autos and have alot of mods on them & love the hell outta their car.....aka me... kid lancer 7.. just cant give it up like that lol ... so this would be cheaper than trading in my car for a manual or swapping tranny's.. of couse its the same gearing.. (says u get a 5th gear though) BUT at least you can downshift when you feel like it.. and not let off the gas or brake down to 2500 rpms just to down shift... ... i'd definitely look into this unit... since Level 10 is very rainbow (being politicly correct) and they're always sold out or "not making these for another 8 months" ... ok now that im done ranting on Level 10's rainbowness..... i'm gonna email the maNufacture of these units now

If you guys read a little deeper into that guy's review, you will see that he blew his transmission.

I see that now after you mentioned it. He was probably downshifting to much at high rpm's. fried the tranny.

I just checked the site and before putting the single post review, they had the whole thread. At the end of the thread there was a link to a second thread in which he talks about the transmission that he wrecked and that he now wanted to buy a manual Eclispe. The reason he blew it was because he had the car shifting aggressively (there are different settings of shifting).
