I just got home with my car. The throttle responce is so much better. The hard part is of this is the 500 mile break in period. My mechanic told me that it will chatter for a while but that will go away as the clutch breaks in. I have to relearn how to shift my car. I find that I have to shift it a bit quicker now. I will post more as the clutch breaks in. So far, I like it.

531 miles later. I like it. The clutch engages quickly. I finally have a dry day to go see how this clutch will do. It has rained for the past 7 days. I need to get a short shifter now. It is hard to shift quickly with the stock shifter. I will post more later today after I get to run it like I did on the stock clutch. I do like how the engine revs up now with the lightweight flywheel.

The shop I took it to, (Agile Automotive) had an universial alignment tool.
I need some info from people that have used or are using a four puck clutch. How long does that chatter last? At 650 miles, I have a little chatter still starting off in first. I have none now in any other gear. The clutch pedal was real soft after the install, it has firmed up quite a bit. It feels a little bit firmer than stock.
Alchemist, are you planning to get a Zoom clutch?

The price seems right compared to other companies. But I'm not doing the clutch until I either need to (clutch goes out) or I have the funds to do both a clutch upgrade and LSD.
So I have about 52,000 miles on my 03 Lancer ES and the clutch is going out. I've been looking around and reading about many different brands. I live in CA in the Bay Area, and I live pretty close to WORKS EVO. So I was looking into getting their STAGE 1 Clutch Upgrade, as I mainly use my car for commuting and personal fun here and there. It seems to be reasonably priced and I'd be doing the work myself, with some help of course.
Any thoughts on WORKS EVO clutches or a reccommendations towards a different brand? Is Zoom really that great? Would a stage 2 even be necessary? Some insight would be appreciated as I need to replace mine soon...

Phony - look for Wiretap. He has the WORKS stage 2 set up & aluminum flywheel. He also has the s/s clutch line. Not to mention he's boosted - the bastard

As for Zoom being that great, I like my stage 2. Combining it with a Fidanza lightweight flywheel, this has been one of the best mods that I have done to my car. Also, the Zoom clutch kits come with a throw out bearing, and if someone is willing to correct me, it is the only clutch kits (Stage 1,2,3,4) comes with a throwout bearing.

I was just leaning towards the Works Clutch due to convenience and price. They said they'd give me an OEM throw-out Bearing for $25. So I guess now I'm debating whether I should go all out and get the Zoom Stage 2. Ohh and should I purchase a new flywheel as well? Pretty pricey item too. I saw a fidanza flywheel for $359, and WORKS EVO flywheel is $449. I take it that these two go hand in hand.

I have the Fidanza and I am happy with it. The Works stage 2 is a good clutch. In the end, you might wait a bit longer to get the Zoom, but it will cost you less because it has the throwout bearing included. I think I waited a week and a half because Summit has to special order it. To me it was worth the wait.
