clutches and suches

not sure if this belongs in troubleshooting or drivetrain, so mods feel free to move this. When i take off in first it feels fine but around the end of first gear it starts kinda jumping around 3500 rpm or so. Also doesnt pull as hard in first as when i first got the car. Is this a clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing problem ? im kinda new to the clutch and drivetrain in this car, i have a short shifter and pulley but thats all for drivetrain. IF anyone can help me figure the problem out id appreciate it.

try putting the car in 5th gear and floor it, if the car revs up, its the clutch. However this might be the beginning of a clutch failure and its not that bad yet...

Driving, do at idle and you'll stall.

This is my test:

Turn on the car, put it in 5th, let the clutch out slowly. If the car starts to move, the clutch is ok. If you're able to let it out fully and the car hasn't budged, your clutch is shot.

Easy test (worked for me)

Get on the freeway. Put the car in 5th gear. While cruising along at 50mph, punch the gas to the floor.

If:
The car just chugs along and picks up speed - clutch is OK.

The car doesn't gain speed but the tach revs like you're in neutral - need new clutch.

obd II is not always reliable. i had a dead cylinder at one point and it didn't throw a light. sometimes it doesn't catch it; especially with our cars. the only time i ever got a code for misfire was when 2 cylinders where not firing at all. i'm just giving you my 2 cents. if you don't want to go with it; that's fine. just trying to help out.

sorry i was in a irritable mood

how's the clutch pedal feel inside the car? if it's starting to get mushy you might have a leaky slave cylinder. also; check the clutch/brake fluid. i'm still a little sick so i need a little bit of time to think about this. my comprehension is slow right now.

do you have trouble getting it into gear to begin with?
