Time for a new Clutch Assembly
Time for a new Clutch Assembly
Hey guys well finally my stock clutch gave out (well started slipping) at 61K. I already bought a lightened flywheel and throw out bearing, but still need to buy a clutch kit. I am looking at this one (The one all the way to the bottom):

So I am pretty excited even though this is costing me quite a bit of money.
Lastly, I was wondering how many miles can I drive before it fully gives out because I don't know if I will have the time to change it until next month some time. Take into consideration I won't be driving hard all, now that I know it is slipping. In addition, I will be putting some miles on it (including some hills hwy 152 in CA) before I have time to do it myself.
If it doesn't seem feasible to drive it that long I guess I will have to have a shop do it for me while I am at work.

but are you really making over 320 ft/lbs or torque? i really think the heavy duty clutch and pressure plate would work just fine for you. they still hold up to 308 ft/lbs of torque and are much less money. but to answer your original question, yes that clutch will work. any clutch that fits the 1.8 mirage will fit our car.

Also, the reason why I was thinking the xtreme is, just like animal said, I might be expanding my horizons on this car. I guess, the more important question, is when.

but thats still only a 15hp difference. if you are truly looking to go higher than what the heavy duty can handle, why not look for something even stronger than the xxtreem?
Well I will let you guys know how everything goes. I am still debating on whether I should let someone do it for me because of time issues. I might just see if it can hold until the 10th of next month (that is when my next weekend is off).
Bailey, trying to gather up some posts I see.
