i got the short shifter ebay, the megan autosports one. i figured if i didnt workout it was only $40. but i put it in and it fits good. definitley a difference in throw. ive never driven a car with a b&m or anything, so i have nothing to compare, but i am happy with it.

B&Ms are backordered where? I just ordered mine from RRM today, and nobody said anything about it being out of stock.

I'd prefer to stick with a name I know, but maybe I'm just gonna end up paying 3 times the price for something nearly identical. Try it and find out. If it doesn't work for you, just resell it on ebay for the same price...lol.

sorry i cant get pics. but compared to other pics of b&m it looks just as clean. if you order it, make sure it is the megan short shifter from street customs. i got it fast and it works great.

Well Im sticking my neck out for the rest of you too and ordered myself an Ebay short shifter, the seller on this one was carparts2003 they have the exact same picture as the streetcustoms seller. For 29.99, if it holds up and fits, its an awesome deal. I always take pics, so I'll keep the rest of you posted.

As previously promised here is the ebay short shifter right next to the stock one. Notice that the ebay one is shorter than the stock with the knob on. Suprisingly enough it looks to be well made. Comes with almost no packaging no instructions just the shifter. No invoice even. I just took it for a test drive and the shift pattern has shrunk considerably. It gives a sure feeling that it is in gear when you shift. I would describe it as a snappy feeling. Anyway for as much as it gets used 29.99 + 10 SH is a steal, after handling it I definitely dont forsee it busting in half and the chrome on it is perfect.

The Perrin should fit. It's practically identical to the B&M, which I installed yesterday. The B&M gets my vote, besides, I like sending money to RRM...hehehe.

Seriously, the B&M was designed for the Evo 4, 5 and 6. It works in the 7, Lancer and 8. I don't think the Perrin would be any different. The linkage and what not for the 8 is identical to the Lancer's.
