ok and theoretically speaking would it be possoble if all the fab was done to put an evo suspension and drivetrain in a lancer to just leave off the front shaft and all the power go to the rear and plug the front shaft holes on the tranny? just a thought. I have a wrecked evo i just want to nix an idea or jumpstart a new one

I think you're best bet is to fix the wrecked Evo, part it out, or sell as is. How did you come across this anyhow?

i have a friend who as a dealer license and he can buy wrecked evos on private wrecked/salvaged cars....we are currently undertaking a full 4g63 swap into the lancer over the winter...ALOT of custom fabbing to be done mostly on suspension for the most part....motor mounts and tranny mounts are too easy but suspension is gonna be hard.......lots of cutting and welding to do on the lancer....not to mention relocating tank and all....im thinkin fuel cell....internal. evo is too wrecked to put money into. flipped a few times....unless you want me to fab you a convertible evo.lol

An evo convertible maybe quite the interesting little car. But probably as you can see crash tests ratings aren't all that great on a regular 4 door evo. Let alone a convertible

1. Go 60 miles an hour on the freeway.

2. Downshift (3rd is a good choice, 4th is fine too) and mash the gas pedal to the floor.

3. See what happens.

------------

Good clutch: the car accelerates like you'd expect.

Bad clutch: the car does not accelerate, but the RPMs go WAY up. If that happens, it means that your clutch isn't gripping like it should.

^Plus, it could have thrown a spring or the springs housing could have cracked...but that usually happens under F/I conditions and HARD drag shifts.
