The input shaft sensor (the one you ordered) has the electrical connector pointing up, whereas the output shaft sensor has the connector pointing off to the side. These pictures should help. The one boxed in red the second picture is mr331743.

would this problem cause the car to idle and die at idle? I threw this code today, and then reset it to see if it popped again...and then the car died. I can start it up, it idles for about 10 seconds, then it stutters and dies again...

that sounds like the iac (idle air control) just had the same problem, switched it and off i went.

what do you mean "switched it", like switched it for a new one? I don't have that option right now...stuck at work. Waiting on the ecu to reset. It was idling fine until I reset the 0715 code, now it won't stay idling. When I try to give it gas, it just dies.

Why would the 0715 code reset effect the iac? Or is it unrelated and just happened to coincide at the same time?

no i doubt the speed sensor has anything to do with the car dying two different things. might have to call the stealership on that one.

turns out I was just experiencing a stupid coincidence. I was low on gas and parked on an incline, and apparently the pump starving for gas happened at the same time I cleared the code. haha. Way to throw me off the scent! I had pushed it to get it out of the way so I could get it towed if I needed to, and just for kicks tried to start it again and it started right up. Threw the code again today and it runs like junk, so I'll be getting the sensors. Called the dealership and there's nothing specific with the code to tell which sensor needs to be replaced, so I guess i'm getting both just to be safe. $120 a pop, they give a 10% discount for being on evom...but the o/p above had a link for sensors that were $77...different part number for the OZ.
