the white funny looking plastic handle that pops out of the transmission. it's located next to the battery underneath the intake plastic. Just pull it up and check the markings..

That's for the automatic transmission. Here is a how to for changing the tranny fluid on a manual transmission 2G (I'm going to assume that the fill and drain plugs will be the same size on the Lancer, since it's a Mitsubishi):

stupid question, now if you change the tranny fliud and something messes up wont the dealers, if your car is still under warrenty say thats your bad not ours, especially if the fluid is a different color, if its the same color i dont think they will be able to tell, anyone know??????
