ok i got a 2002 lancer oz rally 5spd about 3 months ago i started hearing a sound like somthing was hiting in side of the tran

but the thing i dont get it stops when i push the clutch in and when im rolling with clutch in and the the sound starts back up im thinking its the TOB please help any info will help me out

 

You would be correct. It's your throwout bearing.

 

Alright Thanks how much should it cost to get fixed im calling some shops tomorrow

 

it will prolly end up being the same price of a clutch swap for the labor part of it, a throwout bearing is 5-30$ depending on where you get it.i did a clutch job on an 97 eclipse with the 420a witch is the non turbo motor it took 8 hours alone, then me and a buddy did one on a 99 eclipse it took about 5-6 hours with 2 people. (both of these were with no lift we did it in the guys driveway with jackstands and a pumpjack)i charged 300$ for the one i did alone, the other one we did for some papa johns pizza for a friend who was in a bind. im sure a shop would charge aroun 500-600$. the smart thing to do would be to buy a whole clutch kit and just do the whole job at the same time.

 

see thats the thing i just had everything replace but i think the guy didnt put a tob and plus he told me he put racing tranny fluid in the tran would that cause anything
