2 Step/No Lift 2 Shift
Why would they? Both of those things are intended for turboed cars, not NA cars. Ferraris and Corvettes don't have 2-step or no-lift systems, there is a reason.
Turbo in the works so this does interest me, no-lift is a saving grace for the tranny seeing how comin it is to miss gears while launching...my buddy has the wot box on his cobalt and he improved his 1/4 time by nearly a full second
No-lift shifting does not help the tranny, it's designed to keep boost between shifts thus making you faster. This isn't an issue for an NA car or for the conservation of the lancer (if anything it's worse for the tranny). Launch control can be programmed once you have full access to the ECU (using ECUflash or some other softwarre) but you need a manual to use it, if you have a CVT, you're out of luck.

Why would it be easier on the gears? That doesn't make sense. If you're shifting at a high RPM, you're essentially mashing the input shaft and the transmission together, they're not moving at the same speed.
tell me then, if it so destructive then why would GM mass produce it for the cobalt ss/tc? this is a factory installed deal for them. its obvious ur not a fan of no lift to shift, good for you, but i would like to see this done for our cars. prolly should move this debate/topic to tranny....sorry for the inconvenience

lol I am not taking sides in this at all , but please dont mix rag tag economy cars with real performance muscle rated cars. These cars come out of different levels of quality parts, different technologies, different patents for how they get **** done.
i dont understand how you can say the cobalt ss/tc is a rag tag economy car...line up next to one at the strip with ur lancer and see which one gets to the line first...our 152 hp aint gonna get us there first, so maybe we should pay attention to what GM guys are doing with their rides and etc., be smart, educate ourselves, and learn from others. we shouldnt think that mitsu is the "far superior" car!

do you honestly think I was comparing the lancer. what in the 3 or 4 posts before mine makes you think the lancer is ã performance super car. please read. and see where ferarie was mentioned. I will admit I should have quoted to make my point really obvious
