i feel that our cvt can hold way more power then people think. the mazda 3, which has pretty much the same cvt, can handle turbos. i've read on there forums about people with the cvt putting a turbo on and running upwards in 200hp and no problems.

Here's the problem, no one has actually put the transmission through its paces so it's all a big unknown right now. Handling a power upgrade for 5000 miles is way different than handling a power upgrade for 50000 miles.

the mazda 3 does not have a CVT, and the mitsu CVT will not hold much power due to the belt. Other CVT's in higher-ower vehicles use chains for a reason.

No Prob... Kick butt news with your Turbo INSTL... Did you know that pump gas isn't enough for your turbo upgrade...? You should run 89 octane or above... Who's doing your INSTL...? Is it a RRM CVT Turbo...?

Fair Price 4 Quality Parts

granted RRM does make good products and i have 1 or 2 RRM products myself but that is because no one else came out with them at the time..

so im looking into xtreeme boost turbo since they seem to have a more reasonable price... go look at the price of a turbo on your average 4 bangers around the lancer price range and see how ridiculous RRMs products are overpriced

i drive my evo maybe twice a week and due to parents i cant mod it...so the lancer is still my project car and i plan to mod it as a daily but no way im paying 5k for a turbo when i can get a turbo kit for my Si for 2000

I'm sorry to hear that you are disapointed with the cost of turbo upgrades and MOD stuff for the Lancer... My buddies and I have been compairing cost for upgrades for our rides... Most of my upgrades have cost less then my buddies similar upgrade on their different brands, like Honda, Acura, VW, etc... They are MOD'g '07 & '08 models too... In my opinion, the newer the model, the more $$$ for the MOD...

? What are you talking about? 89 is pump gas and it's not even high enough for a turbo car, you should run 91 or higher.

The ralliart is now on mitsucars.com. As far as the capability of the cvt since the ralliart is pushing 237 hp on its cvt we know that it can safely handle a good amount of power.

the Ralliart DOES NOT have a CVT tranny. It uses the same transmission as the MR

Exactly, you're comparing a CVT to TC-SST.
