Ebay short shifter

I will have to say. I was bidding on ebay and I saw the short throw for our US Lancer with a buy it now price of 39.99. I bit ten bucks got it for 7 plus shipping which was 15 bucks. I thought hell I can put it in to try it anyway to see if it will even fit. Guess what? It fits and it works ****! I cant believe it. It cuts the throw in half and for the money it is well worth it. Although I was going to shell out the big bucks to R/R for the B&M. Now I think I am just going to buy the shift knob. LOL

Yes its the one that fits Eclipses. There is like 10 for sale at any given time on Ebay just search for Lancer and you are bound to come across it. A few different people sell them.

Edit: Woah my 400th post, Im Evolved!

Half hour maybe. Pay particular attention to how it came apart so you dont have to guess when you put it together. Don't allow anyone to side track you.

excellent deal; no instructions came with mine though; but total installation time was about 55 min (includes dealing with 2 nosey cats and a 2-year old!) very easy to install; hardest thing is removing the console with out breaking it; no problems with it so far;

I just bought one of these bad boys too from a company called street-concepts.com. It had a buy now price of 28.99 and shipping was about 10 bucks with insurance. So not too bad compared to 160 for the other stuff. I'm looking forward to getting it. Be very cool to have!

Glad to hear that other people have found them, and had good luck with them. I'll report on my experience once it is in too! And it's a good excuse to get a new shift knob or something too ;-)

Later.

Installed the EBay short shifter that I got... from a company called Street Customs. Awesome product, drops in no problem and makes some serious reduction (pretty much 50% in both forward/backward and side/side).

Only problem I had is I can't thread on my stock knob anymore as there isn't enough room before it hits the boot.. It works fine if the boot isn't on.. ( I tested it before I installed the shifter) and the threads matched the stock knob.

I actually manufactured my own knob on a lathe . But I have another knob on order right now... hopefully it fits. Otherwise the greddy knobs should work. It's nice too that the shifter is made out of nicely polished aluminum and looks ok exposed.

So I think in the end you need a new knob one way or another... if you don't have the boot on though it works I found :-).

Later.

I have pics in my review of the shifter. Do a search for street customs short shifter and you should find my review.
