Auto Tranny "Slipping"
Hey ozlancer0z, sounds like what I have been experiencing. I've had it happen about 3-5 times in the year I've had the car. Are you going to take it to the dealer? If so, what one, as Malloy in Woodbridge, VA didn't seem very interested in trying to find the problem to me.
i finally got my car to do this but it was at very low speeds. I was going 30 and got my car to shift all the way up to 3rd then slowed but got it to kick to 4th but instead it went to neutral for a second. i let off and romped the gas and it was fine.
this feels like a loose belt or a sluggish engaging solenoid.
I am diagnosing once i get the clutch band application chart for our tranny.

My oz slipped out of first and into neutral other day. This is the third time this has happened. I really think my clutch is slowly going out on me. Other day, was messin around cause I was out in country. I pulled e brake and tried letting clutch out to smoke em but, instead there was that horrid smelling burning clutch smell. Car reved high and car went knowhere. As a matter afact, tires never even attempted to move. Just the clutch doing whatever it was doing. Anyone have anything like this happen? I really don't have alot of experience with this kinda stuff. This is my first manual vehicle. I've just been trying to find any info I can about clutches going out. I suppose I should just go get one for the day the clutch does go out.
well, what a waste of time going to the dealer! the result... the technician was unable to detect any problems at this time. the service advisor told me it was probably because more than 1 person drives the car and since the tranny learns your driving style it may cause odd shifts. so their fix was to reset the tranny control module, we'll see if it makes a difference. if anyone else gets any further let us know. also, i just started having a rough idle and i was told the spark plugs need replaced after 15,000 miles. anyone know if that is accurate, i don't recall reading that in the owner's manule.

I'm sorry to hear that you hit the same wall I did. I have reset my ECU at least once since the tranny started acting up and it has not went away (Installed a SRI). I am not sure where to take this from here. I plan on starting a log that I will keep in the glovebox to track as much info as I can on when it does it again. I am checking with the NHTSA website every other week or so to see if anything pops up there. Good luck to ya nd if you do find out any other news, please share!!
