NOt sure how old this post is.. just have a question

i have never worked on a lancer before.. I work on my honda usually

my friend owns a lancer.. .now... the question is :

Do we have to change the bushings when changing the short shifter? Because on my honda, it gives me a smoother gear change after i changed it..

thanks

I wrote a how to that is on this forum for doing it. No instructions are included with the shifter. Install is easy.

Later.

The best way is to go to ebay motors and just type lancer I have been searching there for a little over a year now for car parts and they seem to always have the most.

I got mine from eBay, probably the worst model one, with the horrible welds al over. Anyways came with a shifter knob too. Damn thing was cross threaded on and had to re tap it. BUT after that was done it's a sweet little thing.

I bought the 30 dollar short throw shifter off ebay and it worked great, for a while, then the treads broke off in the shifter knob! Bought aftermarket knob, filled it with JB weld and I haven't had a proplem with it since! Plus, didn't have to use the sh--ty screws( grinded that part off the knob) Looks great and feels fine.
