Ebay short shifter
wasnt too sure where to put this but i was wondering if anyone has one of those cheap $30 ebay short shifters?
I wanted to know how it is in comparison to the B&M. Is it smooth, short, does it suck? i figure its just a piece of metal, how different can it be if they just copied it right? Feedback is appreciated.
thanks,
Zeeshan

not hard at all. hardest part was taking out the console. whole job took about 25 minutes. make sure you grease it up when you put it in. it'll be a little tight for a few days but the gets real slick and feels great.
I got my shifter from EBay from a company called Street Customs (www.street-customs.com) and it fit great other than the stock knob not being able to fit on (too short to thread on.. good excuse for a new knob
)
I paid 28.99 plust 6 bucks shipping I believe (in that ballpark) and got it two days later. The guy at Street Customs is very cool to talk to as well.

yeah there are TONS on ebay now... just type in Lancer shifter and you'll get plenty of hits.
I bought mine from street customs... great guy.. and the product was drop shipped from the manufacturer.
Only problem I had was the factory knob not being able to screw on because the top was too short.. but just need a new knob... round one or something.

As far as it being tight... did you switch over the little plastic ends? Just a quick idea there... otherwise... sure maybe some more lubrication. But the fact is any short shifter will seem a lot stiffer... Just the whole lever thing. If you think about it, the bottom of the shifter still has to move the exact same distances to make the gears work. So if the top is moving less, you have a smaller lever arm and the forces are larger than they were before.
Hope that helps!
