new ACT clutch!! :D

So today i got my clutch replaced with an ACT clutch and pressure plate. it is an MR1-HDG6 kit. sorry for crappy pics, all I had with me was my phone. Enjoy!

heavy duty pressure plate and race disk!

whenever i moved it, the springs were shaking around in it haha

Exedy makes our stock clutches! haha

halfway there.....(flywheel was at machine shop getting smooth again )

FYI: I spoke to ACT directly for about 2 weeks while they found a clutch kit that would work for me. this wasnt some "lets try and see if this fits" kind of thing.....this is confirmed by ACT to fit the 08 lancer! Also, thanks to Big Valley Performance in Orlando, FL for excellent pricing and installation!

lol still in the break in process, but so far, clutch feels great, grabs hard, and does everything its supposed to do! install took about 7 or 8 hours at the shop (using a lift and 2 people!). this clutch is hard on the foot though, being a race disk, so if you arent up to strengthening your left leg muscles while you drive, its not for you. i dont care, i can get used to it because my main goal with this car is performance, but SAFE performance, and id rather have more than enough (torque capacity and grabbing power) than not enough! the clutch now engages about 1 inch from pushed all the way in! may have to adjust the pedal a little once its good and broken in. once break in is done, ill practice some launches and burnouts

if this kit works on the 08 eclipse, then i guess so! but i would make sure by maybe calling ACT or some clutch company first.

do you know what (if any) difference is between the clutch you have and the clutch 09 GTS has from Florida? Or are you guys running the same clutch?

were using the same pressure plate, but his clutch is a 4 puck unsprung, while mine is a 6 puck sprung. according to ACT directly, the only difference there is the 6 puck unsprung makes for a smoother daily driver, while his is a lot harsher engagement. although on the box for mine it still says not recommended for street use

oh and i paid less

So I order an ACT clutch that was meant for an older version of mitsu ralliarts. Big Valley, the vendor said it would work on 2008 Mitsu Lancer GTS. My auto shop reported to me that the bearing is a different fit compared to the OEM. can anyone offer some assistance? Big valley has been of no help.

Do you know if ACT offers other less aggressive clutch kits that fit the 08 lancers?
Also why did you keep the same pressure plate?

im positive they do, but dont hold me to it. someone else wanted a stage 1 clutch from ACT, but you will have to call them directly, give them the part numbers of my clutch, and have them cross reference those numbers to numbers for a stage 1 kit. also, i used the same pressure plate as him because that is the plate that ACT recommended for my application

call ACT and confirm with them if the clutch you ordered will fit an 08 lancer. thats what i did. Big Valley isnt ACT, and the only clutch install they've ever done on an 08 lancer was mine, so dont hold them to their word. they are a bunch of great guys, and always are glad to help.

According to the specs of this clutch (334 lb/ft wheel torque) it should hold up to whatever power our cars can make in the near future. I was looking for a "streetable" 6 puck clutch kit, thanks!
