Hmm

The problem still persists on my Lancer, although I'm getting told its the clutch bearings being loose, although wouldn't that mean that my clutch would not run grip on firmly? But it runs fine. But now it sounds like as if i had a piece of sheet metal thats just clanking everytime i hit a bump or I begin to move. it ESPECIALLY happens if I let go of the clutch to quickly and make the car almost stall. So it has to do with either the trans or engine bay area.

Just thought I would post that if it helps at all.

Wow that really sounds like a huge problem. I checked online to see if there were any recalls on my car and there wasn't. Now for the year of your car there is a recall. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the problem that you have but I'm sure it can be a start and they can check over everything. Check this website out.

Have you had your engine mounts checked? This could cause some noise, but wouldn't really affect drive-ability.

I haven't checked them yet. I was busy Saturday and didn't get around to it. I already took my car in but still the same thing and just yesterday the dealership called and asked how everything is going and I told them the problem is still there and that my car pulls to the left. They said that when I take my car in they will look into it more and see what is going on. What about you have you done anything with it yet?

I checked the recall, doesn't apply to my model thankfully. Although I'm dying to find out what this horrible noise issue is originating from. I'm making an old friend/mechanic take a look into it, perhaps he can find something? Engine mounts sound convincing, as I've heard that the Evo 8's sometimes rattle like this when one of their mounts get loose.

I just ckecked today and the bolt on that connects the sway bar end link to the strut was kind or pointing down at an angle so i backed the bolt off then tightened it back up and it straightened up. i havent really noticed it since then but i havent driven much today due to the fact that it started rainning. will update again when i drive it around a little more.

I tried telling you that's what it was. mine does this from time to time. Its a pain in the *** to tighten because the bushing just spins, you need to c-clamp it and use an impact gun, ask the dealership to do it, to me it sounds like this is definitely what it is

yea it made a huge difference, but it still hear it a little so whenever it dries up down here im gonna go back out and try the other wheel as well as using my fathers impact gun on it.

no if only i can find out where that damn deep squeak is coming from in my suspension.

what you need is an allen key and a box wrench, and possibly a pipe depending on your allen key. if you look into the nut you will notice u can put the allen key into there, so put the wrench on first, then the allen key and go to town. ps...i believe the spec is 20 ft-lbs

Oh that is good news. I am taking my car in so that they can fix it and that they know what the problem is when ever some else complains of the same thing. This great atleast we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey I just bought a 2010 Lancer about two weeks ago and I am experiencing the same thing, just wondering if you guys found anything about what it might be?

mine is coming back tightening the sway bar end link helped but i havent beed to my fathers house to use the impact gun so i dont know if that is for sure the problem or not. does it only happen to you after your car has been sitting for a while and when you first turn your wheels it clunks or does it do it more.
