2003 OZ Trans. (auto) became hard to shift into drive. I replaced the motor mounts, and added Lucas crap in it and now it wont even catch gears unless you rev it to 2,000 rpm's. I was going to put a new filter in it and for some reason shifted while the car wasn't running. It makes a funny sound like a lightsaber from star wars or a spring on an old screen door. Its not the linkage vibrating because I can quickly take it out of gear and it stops. Oh they want $1,600 to replace it!!!

 

Man you can get one from a junk yard for like $200 or so and either put it in or have someone do it.

The Lancer's auto trans is known for being good and tough so I don't think you should have any other problems with a JY one.

 

I got a donor car so I'm swapping the eng. and trans. out. Should be fun.
