no software needed. the cvt is already programmed with sportmode, you just need the floor shifter assembly from a gts to be able to use sport mode. just simple swap, its only one plug.

see i had a feeling people over here didnt know about this..im all about sharing the love haha

this is all you need for sport mode so just go to car-parts (dotcom) and search for a 08+ GTS Floor Shift Assembly from a local salvage place and just swap the old one out

Where did you find the shifter assembly at was is hard to find? And for the install did you just remove the old assembly, plug in the new and that is it, no cutting wires?

Yeah, more info would be great, my ES Sport doesn't have this or paddles. If it is an easy upgrade, I'd like to hear more about it.

this was discovered about a year ago so the majority of the floor shift assemblys have been selling fast i found this one on car(-)part.com *dont include parenthesis* for $125 sometimes youcan get it cheaper depending on the junkyard you get it from. but to answer your question yes its hard to find and its just plug n play take the old one out put the new one in..youll need a screwdriver and 10 and 12mm sockets if im not mistaken

Thanks a bunch. The search is on and I haven't found any used, salvage ones yet but I did find a new one on mitsubishiparts.net, still trying to find out if it is the correct part number.

These are the part numbers I have gathered
Shift plate cover number- 2420A048HA
Floor shifter assembly- 2400A264

for both with shipping US is about $300 from what I can tell. Still waiting on word to make sure these are the correct numbers.

From what I can gather the parts number listed above are the correct numbers but before ordering online I would call just to verify until I can get some more confirmation on the subject.

to my understanding you shouldnt need the plate cover..the floor shifter assembly should be all you need i never purchased a plate cover

well maybe ordering it from that website would warrant you to do that so nvm lol

you can do just the shifter plate cover but you will need to do some splicing into the TCM. whereas the whole shifter assembly would be plug and play, and it will be complete with the plate cover. so there is no need to buy another one

I did some research on that as well but after thinking about it I think it would be best just to get the shift assembly in case I decide to get something else (which I eventually will I'm sure), that way I can just re-insert the normal ES shifter into it. I can imagine going to a dealer/private party, and them taking a second look at it like "wtf?" "Isn''t this an ES?"

Now the only thing that i am curious about is that, will performance be the same or is performance better with the ability to shift.
