Question transmission strength

I just received word on a great deal from a buddy of mine who works for . He told me that they had a engine from a 96 eclipse turbo at the shop. He said that they were gonna throw it away because there was no core exchange on the engine. To make a long story short, its mine if i want it. My question is, if i do an engine swap in my lancer can the transmission hold 270hp?

I believe the transmission should hold up, as long as you don't go around launching it every street light. People talk about Mitsubishi transmissions being very strong. I know the turbo Lancers are running around 200 hp with no trans problems.

Wrong 4g63 if you're going to try that.

I think the transmission is less of an issue than the axels and no one has blown either yet with some of the turbocharged Lancers making well over 250hp.
