tranny noise

Last night i was going around a turn and started to slide so i pulled the e-brake and ended up pulling off a really nice drift but i also heard something rip or pop. Now when i drive if i am in gear and i let off the gas there willbe a popping noise come from the tranny. It also makes the same noise when i turn corners. Anyone know what it might be?

^ Good suggestion. You might have pulled the CV out. But as said above, take it in asap, running on a broken part will just damage it or other parts worse.

Thats your CV my friend...you can drive on it to get to the nearest shop or dealer but dont push it.....
**NOTE** the US LANCER is not a rally car...it is not built for that crap...dry pavement drifting is a sure way to reck your car. Save that driving for the snow and sand.
