Having problems with warranty on tranny
Aight...some of yall might not know the trouble that I'm goin through with my tranny...basically I've got a big hole in my transfer case, no more clutch, and my car is stuck in 5th gear...and my Mitsu dealer is sayin some BS still that they wont cover it because they say that the reason the transfer case has a hole is because I lowered the car...well there are no visible signs of damage to the transmission cept the hole where somethin shot out the transfer case...but anyway...does anyone have any suggestions bout what i should do...I dont want to get involved in some legal stuff then loose...just let me know what yall think...my car has been not drivable since late november and I'm gettin tired of it...if any of you guys have any input please help me out...thanks in advance...
Do some research on warranty laws and it will be your best friend. An educated consumer is a dangerous consumer. lol -- I think i see hobie post this once a week :P

I would have your facts straight regarding warranty laws. Go back there and ask to talk to the manager and explain that you know your rights and that warranty law states that if you modified the suspension, they can't void the warranty on the car, they can only void the warranty of the suspension of the car. That is unless, you dropped the car so low that somehow you banged the tranny on a speedbump and caused it.
You could always put your stock springs back on and take it to a different dealership ??

You can start by threatening to get a lawyer, and mean it. If they ignore that, then get a lawyer and it will all magically go away. You could probably even insist they pay lawyer fees after the fact, so long as they aren't right.

Thanks for the input so far guys. I have already called Mitsubishi's Corporate offices on multiple occasions and they keep tellin me the same thing. I'm going to call some numbers from the SEMA site and find out some more info from those numbers. I'm also going to call my dealership on monday to set up a meeting with the Service Manager and I'm also going to try to find a lawyer to help. If anyone else has any other input or if anyone has similar problems, let me know, thanks...

I wish it was as easy as just puttin the stock springs on, besides that theyve seen it before while it was lowered, and that they wrote in the writeup that it was lowered...there are scratches on the underside due to rubbin on speed bumps...as of right now I'm probably goin to just have to pay for it n try to get it reimbursed later. So I guess its time for some motor and tranny work...
well i thought it was the transfer case but its where the axles come into the tranny...thats where the hole is and thats where the spider gears are...but yea...im printing up them laws and im goin to the dealership this week...hopefully ill get some good news!!!
