I have a 2002 Lancer LS, automatic, with a little tranny issues that I'm trying to get fixed, but I tried to push my gas pedal in park, a few minutes ago to warm up my car to take my step-son to work and I couldn't move it. The pedal was stuck in the up (normal) position. Can anyone tell me why this happens? It shifts into gear fine when the brake is depressed, but in any gear the gas pedal doesn't move. Unless you mean there is a separate transmission issue. What you describe it sounds like your throttle cable is stuck and has nothing to do with the tranny. Either it frayed or melted inside the sheath. I would start by pulling off the throttle cable on the throttle body and then with it disconnected push a little harder on the gas pedal. With the car off of course. If you can get it to push down and then it sticks wherever you stopped pushing then you will need a new cable.
