Whining noise from CVT? / + Question
i get a really loud whining noise from my CVT even when i just relax on the throttle, as well can someone answer me on how to get rid of the auto downshift, or when im at a light keep the car in first gear instead of putting me in drive.
to keep it in sport mode you would have to have a floor shifter that has the (+/-) range. to my knowledge the CAN models only have paddle shifters with a standard PNRDL floor shifter. So you're stuck having to toggle sport mode every time you come to a complete stop.
as for the whining, it sounds like your cvt is getting too hot. when does this occur? like does it happen while you're driving on the highway or after exiting the highway. Or does it happen even during city speeds under 80km per hour? Mine used to whine during highway commutes. It went into limp mode once and left me stranded on the side of the road after cutting my power and limiting my speed to 35mph on a 65mph road. fun times.
The problem could be not enough cvt fluid or too much cvt. check your fluid level and fluid quality. It should be clear.
