NA Rear bar to JDM rear bar
NA Rear bar to JDM rear bar
Hey guys, just a general enquiry that I'm curious about.
So converting an NA rear to a JDM rear bar, how difficult is the job?
I know it may vary with experience but to be more specific,
is just a simple bolt on job? or would I have do measuring and cutting
to fit the JDM bar.
(i get that some exhaust piping may have to change where its going if the rear is added.)
Hope I made that clear, pretty new to asking all this so if I'm wrong with my wording, feel free to correct me

Thanks for the reply mate!
I think what I was supposed to ask was
a "USDM" rear bumper to a "JDM" rear bumper.
These are the terms my friends used when I asked them,
but none can answer the questions I asked.
Not 100% if the terms I used is correct, but hopefully it made sense.

Oh no no! I wouldn't do something like that LOL.
I'm looking to buy an Evo 7-9. And I've come to understand that some EVO's may come in a USDM rear bumper. (Which I think has no black diffuser? If thats the correct term.) and the JDM bumper can replace the USDM one. (the JDM rear bumper being the one with the black rear diffuser).
Just wondering if it's a tedious task, or an easy one.
I apologize for the confusion and the non mech-savy talk

Hey, take it easy on our Aussie Brother! No, it's not hard to do at all! You can take off your USDM "bar", and add a Evo IX bar. You will need to replace the 18 rivets that go on the right, and left black, top curved brackets. The other thing you have to consider: The impact bar behind the rear bar...It must be altered in order to put the JDM bar back on. The JDM bar does not 'stick out' as much as the USDM one. So trimming of the impact bar needs to be done. But! There solutions to that! You can do some welding to this impact bar (not hard), or, there are companies here that make some very cool replacement ones! Make sure you order the tow hook cover, and it's 2 fasteners too! Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask, or PM me! Glad to help! I have sold 31 JDM rear bars in the last 2 years...They are a great improvement/upgrade! Cheers! -Howard.
@NJ9MR Thank you so much for that response! Cleared it up for me and gives me an idea of how to go about it now, thanks!!!!
This forum is great
@cranswick Oh, I'm referring to the whole back piece "Rear bumper" I guess is the correct term?
