Auto trans shift cable part number / compatible replacement?

okay, so this may sound weird or stupid, but i was changing the input and output turbine speed sensors, and broke the shift cable that goes to the transmission. I have it MacGuyvered together with duct tape and electrical tape, and its working-ish for time being. but I'll be damned if I can find the replacment cable online any where?! I've seen cables that look similar but they are listed for as GM parts, oreilly shows like 4-5 different ones in lengths from 3-5 feet? i just need a part number or a compatible replacement. I am amazed that the end of this cable is freaking plastic.. would it have been so hard to make it a bent threaded metal part?
