Newbie looking for help

Hey guys, new to the site (and to messing with cars lol) and just had some general questions about some things. I have a 2011 lancer sportback es but want more from it. It's an automatic which leads me to my first question, is it possible to transmission swap it to a manual? Do I need to swap anything out? Would I need a different engine? Maybe these seem like dumb questions but I meant it when I said I was a newbie lol. Anyways I have a bunch more questions and was hoping for some feedback! Thanks guys!

Thane,
Welcome! First off changing transmissions is possible but you would need a ton of parts(the transmission, computer ect.), tools, $$$$ and time/knowledge. The auto cars were made to be autos and so there is a ton of small differences that would have to be changed for example- a clutch what would you need to do just to get one there? It honestly isn't worth it especially if you are new to working on cars. Sell your auto and go find a manual.

Simple solution without the headaches.

yeah I figured that most people would just tell me to sell my auto and buy a manual but right now, it's not really an option for a few reasons. But I digress. Idk its more of a challenge and I was interested on making a project out of it
