question re: AT filter change

Ok, I'm just over the 30k mark, and I ordered a transmission filter kit. What I got was apparently just the filter. I'm used to there being a gasket in the kit, but then I got to thinking, maybe this uses an o ring gasket, so anyone please tell me if it does, or if I need to order a gasket?

Also, it appears that the pan is not on the bottom of the trans, but on the side at the front of the car.

Finally, any reccomendations on ATF fluid?

Thanks in advance.

ok, mental note, be more specific what I ask the dealer about this stuff. Turns out, the filter only needs changing at around 100K, and the fluid at 30k. Now, do I want to attempt the fluid flush myself, or pay them $175 to do it.... The CD manual I got said to disconnect the line going into the radiator and drain the fluid, then run the car for 2 minutes to drain the lines. Them fill it up with new fluid and run that through and drain it to flush everything out, then reconnect the line and fill it up with new fluid.

I'm guessing that as long as the trans isn't under a load, that the lack of fluid while its being drained won't harm it?

Anyone done this?

$175 for a AT flush are they nuts ?

I would simply just remove the drain bolt at the bottom of the AT housing and add new AT fluid. My old Civic had the same setup, just drain the old fluid and add around 2.5L, do this 2-3 times within 2-3 months since they is another 3-4 liters still left in thee housing everytime you do a simple drain flush. I would use original Diamond ATF III since the manual does not mention the using of regular Dexron ATF.
