So how much of a difference is there between the FIRM and the FLEX mounts? Can you give us some advice on which ones are better for what use?

That's business. Some people will pay it just because RRM sells it.

And then, in their registry, they'll list it as "RRM motor mounts" just like they do with their "RRM sway bar" (made by Progress)...

Well this is a really old thread but since I found it I will post up my review here.

It took me a really long time (too long) to buy these for drag racing and what everyone said before was true. The mounts eliminate wheel hop. Along with the new clutch I installed at the same time you have to change the way you launch and just drop the clutch.

The car digs in firm and there is no hint of missing shifts through engine movements.

The deyeme motor mounts for only $150 are well worth the investment in my opinion. The only thing I would question is which ones to get. They are both firmer than stock for the flex and the firm. I got a combo of the firm front and flex rear. I think if I had to do it over again I would go the opposite. The firm front mount emits alot of vibration up the front of the car so at idle the hood really rattles hard. During regular driving though, anything above idle, the car runs smooth and there is minimal vibration felt.

Good luck anyone who was to try them.

I love em

Wadad, the vibration has to do with the low idle point on the Lancer. It's almost like a point of resonance. If your idle is higher it won't vibrate as much. I know there isn't much you can do about that, but I figured I'd share. When I set my car's idle at 800ish RPM's my car would shake and rattle quite a bit, but when I set it steady at 900-1,000 the car returned to more or less normal. Firm/firm btw.

I have been thinking about raising the idle a bit but then that should aid in more fuel consumption.

Even though gas is getting cheaper again I want to try to squeeze as much out of the tank as I can. I'm cheap!!!

Mine idles more like 6-700rpm

Yeah, it's definitely a noticable change in fuel consumption, but it may be worth it. IF you're tuning yourself try raising it for a week or so and see if it makes much of a difference. My car's idle varied on the stock ECU. 600-800 was the normal range.

Thank goodness the mounts do break in a little.

Compared to when I first installed them the vibration is far reduced. It only irritates my girlfriend so I am not tooo tooo worried about it. Just thought I would warn anyone else who wants to install them.

If anybody needs/wants Deyeme decals, let me know. I still have a bunch from when I was their favorite guinea pig...

FWIW, I had minimal idle issues with my set (firm F&R). The car shook like hell with the A/C on, but at plain idle, there was just a little bit of vibration. Nothing I couldn't handle.
