?'s for Anyone w/Deyeme motor mounts....

Ok, first off yes I have read all the posts regarding the subject. But the only posts with any real info on motor mounts have been from AVB, Boe & Hobie. All of which are great, but I would like to know which mounts everyone has. Firm or Flex? I know either way I decide to go I will be looking at having some vibrations at idle, but as far as a comparison between the two diferent types, does anyone have an opinion which way to go? (Firm or Flex?) I know there are more people out there with the Deyeme mounts so if you have any info on which ones you prefer out of the two options it would be much appreciated. And for those of you who have the Flex ones they still eliminate the wheel hop right? The Flex ones aren't just glorified stock mounts right?

Oh yeah, I know RRM came out with some new ones, but I'd rather get the Deyeme since they are half the price, been around longer than the RRM ones and I'm sure the quality is the same. So please focus on Deyeme.

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

I have firm. Bother are more firm than stock, and urethane is a much better material than rubber when it comes to engine movement. They do tend to carry vibrations more though at some RPM's. I've posted this before, but I've never had some of the roughness at idle that a couple other people have had. FWIW DMR lets you pick the urethane color too.

Both mounts are stock mounts with the rubber removed and replaced with solid urethane. While I obviously have no experience with Road Race's mounts, I can say that I've experienced ZERO wheel hop with DMR's. I had originally intended to buy a LSD when I got my turbo installed and everything, but it turned out I had no problem keeping a good set of tires locked on the pavement. The stocks spun a bit, but since the car was not squatting on a launch I can only attribute that to their lack of grip. With any stiff mount you will notice a serious reduction in torque steer and loss of grip during launch.

The color is a new thing. We've always dyed the filler various colors by batch. Our volume now, though, is high enough we can actually stock them in colors, and even do special colors by request (like lime green- anyone want a lime green mount?). Anyway, RRM mounts ARE ours, and RRM is an authorized dealer of our products for the Mitsus, since we're more commonly known with the MoPar crowd.

Cool. So which mounts are RRM stocking the Firm or Flex ones? Also say I want the mounts in Red do i just say that in the comments section when I check out? I just thought posting this here instead of in an email to help everyone out. What colors do you have in stock and does it cost us extra for you to mix up a custom color?

Travis - I love Deyeme's products and fully support you guys. I hope to pick up some mounts when I have more money.

My question for you is this - why let RRM price gouge so badly? The mounts are $140 on your site, but RRM wants $289? Doesn't that kind of insult you?

I was kind of wondering the same thing, but I don't think it's price gouging though. It's business. If you buy straight from the manufacturer you get better deals. I just took an economics class and it's just how things work. Look at car dealerships, they buy the cars for almost half the price we buy them for. If you could buy direct from the car manufacturers that would be great, but we can't. But in this case we do have an option, which is great. If RRM can keep selling at those prices then more power to them. Anyways it does kind of suck for the poeple buying from them though and I do share your concern.

If only I'd known I could have had a lime green engine compartment way back then! That's awesome btw, Travis.

I'm glad DMR and RRM could get together to push more products. I hope it makes both of you a good amount of money.

Out of curiousity why don't they sell the radiator brackets too? I love mine.

I ordered the Firm front and rear mounts in RED today! I'm excited as hell. I got a quick response from Travis over at Deyeme, he said he thought he had the RED mounts instock so they would ship out today or tomorrow. I also thought I'd go all out and went ahead and ordered the red radiator brackets to match! I feel like a kid waiting for christmas to come. I haven't done a whole lot to my car b/c of budget restraints but now some extra cash flow is comming in and I'm on my way to building up my car, well..... slowly on my way. Oh yeah and the best part of it all is that it only cost me $170 for all of it shipped to my door. Now you can't beat that with a ten foot pole.

I have the firm mounts from deyeme and their radiator brackets. Great stuff through and through and the price is where it's at. Slight vibration but honestly not a big deal.

Cool. Thanks for the opinion on the mounts. I cant wait to get mine in! And thanks duc749 the other response on the mounts. Hey San Antoni let me know when you get your mounts in, maybe we can meet up and check each others out. Maybe we can try and start a little meet down here again. I remember about a year and a half ago the last time someone started a meet only like 4 or 5 lancers showed up. It seems like there are more people from SA on the boards now. Maybe we'll give it a try. But Jason moved away now and he was kind of the highlight of the whole thing with his E7 kit and everything. We'll see. Sorry guys kinda got off topic there.

I can actually see how much the engine moves when I hit the gas when I had the hood open and I get wheel hop like a biach. These should help me out greatly! Ryan it's worth a shot trying to get the lancers together again we might have a little bit better turnout if we plan right! I know 2 other lancers and an evolution, most of the guys I hamg out with know have srt-4's right now!

RRM stocks our FIRM mounts, however they're free to order various colors, and also flex mounts if they want. As far as their retail pricing, I don't really set rules about that. I'm not trying to compete with RRM in the Mitsu market (you don't see downpipes and other stuff RRM sells on our website), but we have a product I believe is superior to the other alternatives, so we share the technology with our Mitsu cousins like the Lancer and Eclipse.
