Angry I need help with my check engine light

Yea I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem. Starting today for some reason my check engine light has come on and staye don the whole time while I'm driving now I'm wondering if there is a serious provlem with my car or if its just doin that cause I'm like 500 miles shy of hittin 25,000 miles and its just remindin me to get it serviced. Now my car runs great and still does I snse no probs at all and I have no mods on the car at all thats to the engine. so is somtin seriously wrong or am I freakinout for no reason?

If the light stays on. I would call the mitsubishi service department, and ask them if it is supposed to be a service indicator, and if not take it to them so they can check it out.

Ah...oddly enough I was down your neck of the woods last week, Kane. Anyway, check your fuel cap, make sure it's closed tightly. Unplug the neg terminal on the battery and then let it sit 20 min. Put it back on and let it idle for a few minutes without revving it or anything. The light will go off temporarily if not for good. After around 40 miles it'll go back on if it's a real problem.

HK is correct, but you don't really need to sit out for 20 mins. 3-5 mins top.

If it occurs again, it's a real problem.

At Autozone, they can scan your OBDII sensor and see what is triggering the Check Engine Light.
