Engine Shut Off.. Why?
I was driving to work today and I was at a red light. When the light turned green and i went to step on the gas I noticed I wasn't moving. When I realized my car shut off I put it in Park and tried to turn it back on. It took a lot longer than normal for the car to turn over and start. When it started the service engine light was on and it was all shakey and when i was driving it would hesitate alot. It was not a smooth ride untill i got it into the higher rpms. I took it home. and tried turning it on a couple minuets later and it started fine but was still shakey. It turns on fine now, and is'nt shakey really. but I still have a service engine light on and it idles really low. I have a 2003 OZ with a SRI and it is an automatic.
It could be that your air filter is all clogged up, and may need some cleaning. Usually using a high air compressor you can clean all the dirt and dust particles stuck in between the filters...or try replacing it with a new one to test. good luck!
Don't even bother trying to clean it. For how cheap a new OEM air filter is...it isn't worth the time to clean...just get a new one. Also if you are over 30k you may want to look into changing your PCV valve. Another thing is that maybe you picked up a bad tank of gas...try dumping in some fuel injector cleaner.
Hop you get it fixed man.

I don't have an OEM filter I have the RRM Short ram. So you think it could be clogged up? and would bad gas have anything to do with the service engine light? Thanks for everyones help so far.

well I figured out the problem and it is that I am leaking gas.... I had a puddle under my car under my gas tanks and when I put my hand in it and smelled it, it was gas. So i'm going to take it to the dealer but am worried about getting denied because of my intake. Would that be something I'd get denied for or should it be no problem? I'm just a tad worried from some of the stories i've heard on here. Thanks
in no way should having an intske void your warinty at all the only way they could not fix it is to prove that your intake caused you gas tank to leak!!! i dont think thats the problem
by law, they have to prove that your intake caused the fuel leak, and since that's not possible, you'll be fine. If for some reason they do say its voided, get it in writing of their explanation as to why they are denying you service. Do some research on here, someone posted the actual law about warranties, but i don't have to search for you now.
here, i decided to do some work and i did find this for you, it was posted by ciclon1, this is what he said
