is my car ****ed up

ok so today my car got stuck on ice, and there was a lot of redlining involved in getting it out, so now there is a smell of the engine and or the burned tires, no i dont know if i just didnt notice this before or if its something messed up....when i switch to a higher gear the rpms go up a lil then back down??? is this normal?

The RPM thing you described is textbook clutch slippage. Your clutch is fried my friend. Time for a new one.
