Unhappy Anyone with a sunroof??

So I took down my headliner and re-covered it with some foam backed cloth headliner and I repainted all my accessories ...oh sh*t handles, sun visors, and such...but now my sunroof is not closing all the way. It goes to like 3 inches away from the front and just stops . Its not getting stuck on anything but its like the memory is registering this point 3 inches away from the front as the origin point where it should be closed. Im so pissed right now and Im gonna have to pay out the *** to get it fixed...any suggestions before the dealer takes my car and wont give it back until I pay? Did this ever happen to anybody else? Please Help!!!!!!

first of all never go to the dealer for repairs. Only go for recalls and **** you are not paying for. Where do you live? Is it possible that its frozen, cuz in minnesota my brotherss froze open from the cold.

Step one: Insert key in your ignition and turn to accessory.
Step two: Stand on the driver side door sill.
Step three: Reach your left hand inside the door of the car and hold the close sunroof button forward.
Step four: At the same time holding the button, shove the sun roof closed with your right hand.
Step five: If this doesn't work, then it might have something caught in the track or inside the roof behind where it goes inside.

I had a sunroof on my 96 eclipse and a little screw came loose and fell into the track. Maybe check that first. =P

Talking

Thanks for the input guys, I finally got the problem solved...whew! I did end up taking it to the dealer to see if it would be unter warranty, and they said the timing on the motor was off and it could potentially cost me $370 to fix it because the aftermarket headliner caused the motor to be exposed and succeptible to problems...blah blah blah. Luckily, that wasnt the case, but there was something loose from the manufacturer and the offset caused the motor to go into some kind of safe mode so it didnt burn out. So if this does happen to anybody else, take heart in the fact that you may not have to shell out the $370 to fix it. Thankfully I didnt!!

So for all those out there replacing the headliner, some words of advise from someone who experienced it...be careful!!

Edit: I just re-read the service write-up and the loose screw that caused the malfunction was actually jamming the sunroof in the track.

there is a possibility of it being the drive motor for the sunroof. My friends accord has a sunroof and it wouldnt close all the way so i lubed it up and it still wouldnt close. She took it to get it fixed and it just ended up being the drive motor wasnt gettin enough power

I had my sunroof stick before. It happens sometimes, I find that for some odd reason when I open and close my drivers side window it works again. (Ya I don't get it either)
