Air Intake problem
I installed an air intake (I got it off ebay, one of my first mistakes). Me and a friend installed it, and when we were going to ground the thing, the metal bracket it came with would not reach. So, I left it there, without any support (bad idea, I know). Well, a day ago, the metal pipe from the filter came off the rubber part going into the engine. Basically, I'm wondering what I should do. Should I buy another Air Intake or get the thing fixed. If I was to get it fixed, what would I need? If I do buy another intake, any suggestions?
holy $#!? so the pipe part that connects to the hose to your valve cover got sucked in? well if driveability hasn't changed, i hope that it got stuck in one of the intake runners. i'd get mechanic to look at it unless you yourself is mechanically inclined.
i say jus use the filter and it should still make some nosie wit jus the filter and jus put everything back together and never by those crappy intakes off of ebay...anywayz if ur car is a manual u should go for a CAI (cold air intake)...AEM has a nice CAI but too bad i got a rmr short ram coz i got an auto
...o wellz good luck wit ur intake

the bluish hose that goes to the valve is fine..but the metal piping that goes to the MAS and then to the air filter detached, it was loosened over a few month(s) period (I drove with it dangling around, not attached to anything). When that happened, the car would not work, but when reattachedm it worked fine. I tigtened the clip that came loose and now I'm wondering what to do next.
ohhhhhh. okay, wouldn't worry about it
if the pipe and everything is still intact, just go to home depot and get a bracket to somehow fix the pipe onto where one of the air box bolts use to be.
oh yeah, if you have an aluminum tube, you could maybe get it powder coated or use a heat resistant paint on it to keep if from absorbing heat. a few coats should be fine.

1875003919 is the item #. seller is xoxoparts. Try to go with RRM (Road///Race Motorsports) or AEM. Thats what I have been told (should have spent a bit more and gotten one of those).

I would save some money, and get a proven system like: Injen, AEM, or RMR

I know that I should have waited. For the time being, I have the thing set with electric tape and braced against my strut bar. Not very pretty, but it is working for the time being. RRM intake here I come....
