Grounding Problems - please help!

I installed my grounding kit yesterday and it seems that i am having the opposite effect from everyone else. My idle is MUCH worse, my headlights almost die at every stoplight...

what is the problem. I need someone to post the specific (with accurate description or pictures) grounding points of the 02-03 lancer OZ. Maybe i chose bad points?

I have one. I'm very satisfied with it. I didn't do the DIY version, I went with a good quality hand made kit. Look at my sig. I made a thread about it, and it works. Let me state it again slowly, it, the grounding kit, works... at least mine does.

By the way, you "almost having" something is not you having it. You never tested it out and you have no authority to stand on what so ever on the matter. All I can say is that mine works and does what it is advertised to do.

Just a question, did you remove the stock grounds or did you just put your new ones on top of them. Mine are put on top of the old ones with the old ones still on. I'm not sure if that makes a difference but why remove the old?

Also mine follow a loop back to the negitive ground. I tried to explain it in my post about the Ground Fusion kit I have. But what the loop does is insure that the grounds all go to the negitive of the battery.

The cables don't just splinter out from the battery like spider legs but they form a continuous loop. A cable from the negitive to the valve cover, a cable from the valve cover to the tranny, a cable from the tranny to the lights, etc... then all the way back to the negtive... get it? Try that for a stronger ground.

i love it when people talk crap about something they have no experience with, you sounds really sure of yourself for not ever trying the product...

it doesnt help anyone!

do what fox said, make sure all your old grounds are still on and that they are in a loop to the negative of the battery

my old grounds are still on but i put mine on at random spots on the head, trans outer housing, alternator lift mount, bolt into the Intake manifold that hold the throttle cable tightener in place, and the left and right side of the chassis. The left and right sides of the chassis are the only stock ground points that i used. I have no idea where the ground points are on the various engine parts. Please fill me in!

What do you mean by saying your idle is much worst? Does it seem like it's going to die? Or is it too high??

doesnt matter whether or not were a moderator, a lot of people on there forums base their opinions from other people who have based their opinions of of the product, its a long list, and guess what some of those people didnt do something right, and messed something up along the cycle, like how some people here say that the RRM kit isnt wprth the money, a ton more so, and i think one or two of those people that dont think its worth it have it, out of all the other one that dont, plus being a mod doesnt mean ****, what the hell does that have to do with anything?....

also take into consideration that the stock factory ground positions may or may not be the best ones. try different spots (one at a time) and see if that helps. just because mitsu. built the car a certain way, doesn't make it the best way. alot of things that mitsu. did when designing our cars were done to keep the cost down. and you can bet that if they could save a few pennies on thinner, shorter ground cables, they did it. but hey isn't that what tuning is all about, taking a stock car (whatever it is) and making it better.

Can someone who has correctly installed their grounding kit please post a detailed description (w/ pics would be best) of the best grounding points. There are sooooo many people who are extremely happy with their grounding systems that im sure someone can help. I am getting desperate!

With my current setup, my idle fluctuates so low that it feels like its going to die!

i have a suggestion (no idea if this will work though). disconnect your negative terminal so that you reset your system. leave it off for a minute, reattach, then start your car and let it idle for about 5 minutes. let us know if that helps.

Take pictures of what you have done with each of the ground points you have chosen.

thanks for the link lookslikeanevo but those pictures show how to ground an evo. I did extensive searching for something similar on an OZ and there is nothing. These are the kind of pictures I am looking for from someone who has a good kit on an OZ.

Also, when i found that link in my first round of searching, i thought it was a bad example compared to the true aftermarket grounding kits including the two made by mitsubishi that go so far as to ground coil packs and headlights.

P.S. there are a few people on these forums that have nothing better to do than be "Search Police". I agree that there are too many new threads being restarted on old subjects but its getting to the point that even when i start a thread after extensive searching, i still take sh*t plus a useless link. No offense lookslikeanevo but that last post was completely useless and uncalled for.
