worrysome problem

Tonight while I was driving down the expressway I had to slam the brakes on my ES to avoid some idiot that pulled into my lane while they were doing about 20, while I was doing about 70+. Anyways, after I got around the potential accident I noticed that one if not more than one of my tires was making like a thumping type noise, and it felt like maybe it had a bubble in the tire... kinda like when you used to get them bubbles in bike tires when you were a kid from skidding too much.
Anyone know what this might possibly be, I will be contacting the dealership tomorrow morning to see if I can get in and have them check it over since I am still under warranty. But any other info that anyone might have would be much appreciated.
Also, would this kinda thing be covered under warranty you think?

Thanks in advance

Stan

When you slammed on your brakes and skidded, you probably lost a lot of tread on a small section of your tires. If you look at your tires you might find a flat spot. Obviously that would probably cause the thumping. I'm not really sure what you should do to solve this problem other than getting new tires or just drive on them until the tread evens out.

i can only guess one of two things. either the tires are low on air pressure. or when you slammed on the brakes the hot rubber on the tiresskid on the pavement, creating a lower point in the rubber that expanded slightly under the air pressure. not really sure about warranty issues, or about my theoris to be completely honest. anyway hope it helps a little. dealership might have a better idea. how many miles are on your current tires?

Under that kind of hard braking the possiblity also exists that you may hae warped a rotor. Just something to consider.
