Ticking, Popping sound I have no Idea
Ticking, Popping sound I have no Idea
Ok so I'm driving along to the gas station and my wife's car sounds fine. I get tot he gas station fill up and take off. I then head to the store and the car still no problems that I can tell...Till I leave the store. On my way back home I start hearing a clicking noise when I'm slowing down. Clutch is disengaged so I'm not sure whatt it could be I'm slowing from about 30-0 at a red light. I start to go again and from 0-30 I hear the clicking again in all gears but getting fast with the speed of the car. At about 40 the car sounds great again. I took it out just now and it was from 0-25-0 that I herd it as I drove more it slowly got less 0-10-0 then I can't hear it any more. My wife has to go to our lawyer tomarrow and I have meetings all day so she has to be able to drive the lancer and she hasn't drove the Evo yet. Any help ideas?
sounds wierd......my advice is not to drive the car and tow it to a professional who can diagnose.
But dont drive the car if it really sounds wierd.....especially if this noise just came out of nowhere

There's been no noise till today first thought was a tire but there all ok little on the bald side but everything looks ok there. The sound only seems to come from the rear drivers side. It's still under warrenty so I can get it checked out at the dealer I just have to find the closes dealer to Beuna park by tommarow...And convinse them there was a noise.
you mention that you didn't hear the sound til you filled the lancer with gas. this may be overboard, but the gas station may be using some cheap stuff?
i know in toronto, some independent gas stations was found to be adding water and stuff to the gas that caused probs to some drivers afterwards when they complained about the gas stations.
it would probably be best to bring it to the shop...at least if it's something major your wife isn't stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Yea the gas station is the only verible. It was low on gas and I filled it up with a 4-5 gallons. I thouhgt about that till the noise started to go away and I haven't really herd an other noises.
