Piece Of Crap Everyone Read This!!

CHeck it man, i had 14 something winter tires brand new i had been riding around with them till i got a replacement tire for my 18 inch rims because it had a huge gash in the sidewall so i needed a new tire. I got it shipped to my house, i took it to the shop got it fitted onto the rim ok everything is ready to go. I use my dads truck jack and jack it up and start putting my 18 inch chrome wheels on im moving pretty fast but im still doing it slow u know by hand. I get done with three rims in like 2 hours then im on the last 4 lug nuts and im twisting them craps and stepping on it to force them lose and nothing. I spray some 40dgrese crap to losen it up go again and the **** rips off the whole neck screw where the rim goes i go **** i only got three left go to do the next one and THE SAME THING MANG!! Now my car is jacked up in my drive way missing two lug nuts necks and i cant even unjack it cause it can mess the other ones up. What should i do man? Can i get that whole neck thing replace so i have 4 again?> What do u call that and where can i get it? I CANT BELIEVE THEY BROKE OFF ISNT THAT ON WARRANTY?

Warranty - not sure.

If you're talking about what I think you are (the studs that the lugnuts go on), you can simply buy them from the dealership and press them in. Should be fairly easy.

Moving to Troubleshooting.

i f'd up my wheel studs like 3-4 times.... it happens if you dont use a torque wrench. but we dont own shops so we have no choice. what did i do when this happened to me 3-4 times? lol

1. Go to Mitsu and ask for wheel studs for the lancer.
2. I took it to a shop (mineke) they welded off the lug nut, took off my winter tire > Slipped the brand new Wheel stud in and then put on my rim. i havent had any problems since.

i was freakin out just like you.. but if u go about it just like i did you'll be fine.

heh, this has happened to me the day before AND the day OF an autocross. it pissed me off royally. but it's not too bad of a problem, it's an easy fix, but im sitll at a point where i dont feel that my mechanical skills are something I trust. if you dont feel like fixing it yourself, just go to any wheel shop and they should be able to do it for you...

Note: if you go to a car parts store and they do a search for the lugs on their computer and you tell them your car is an '03 and they say they dont have it, tell them to try searching for an '02 lancer. that would've saved me a lot of time if someone told me that

good luck man

oh btw, this is the process in which the wheel place fixed this problem up:

1. Took off wheel and brake calipers.
2. Pounded out the broken lug with a metal mallet
3. Fit the new lug in and used a nut to tighten into the hole w/ impact wrench (although I think that was probably unnecessary)
