Problem while debadging...

I took off the lancer and mitsu diamond off the trunk today. Didn't take that much work with the help of adesive remover and elbow grease. But the problem is that the diamond left an imprint that won't come off. It is in the shape of outline of the diamond. Doesn't seem like it's adhesive because it feels really hard. Afraid to try to chip it off due to possible paint damage. What can I do to try and get it off? I will post some pics later during day light if it's still there

clay bar and wax, maybe wash the car, also if your car is in the sun a lot then the imprint may be from a discolorations caused by the sun

I noticed the same thing when I removed the OZ Rally sticker. There must have been dirt or something that lined the top of the badge and slowly sanded away the paint cuz now I have a faint line etched into my trunk paint where the top of the badge was.

These are what I use to remove stuff:

so with goo gone and a little elbow grease it's possible to get it off without damaging the paint? It seems like it's almost a part of the paint or something...

It's probably a part of the wax, or at very worst the very top of the paint. I'm SURE that it will come off. I haven't debadged mine yet, but I plan to swap the diamond star out for a blue one in the future, and I'm sure the clay bar solution is the best so far (not that the others wouldn't work, but clay bars > *)

just dont use hard things in chipping that goo off cuz it will definitely scratch your trunk....
use hot water, a cotton towel and start rubbing it. i didn't finish it in one day it took like a letter a day so be patient...

Take a hair dryer and Simple Green, goo gone, etc. Heat up the area with the hair dryer and then clean off with simple clean and a cotton cloth or shop towel.

Just remember, there will be no wax in this area afterwards.
