problem wiht coilovers

got the coilover basics put on. i took it to get aligned and the guy at the shop told me it had memory steering cause the springs were stickingand letting go whenever i turn. so if i turn right the car will veer right. visa versa and i hear a boinging noise. what is this? how bad is it for my car and springs.

The "boing" noise...I've heard can be taken care of by tightening the nut on top of the strut with an air ratchet. But my Lancer, before the accident, still did it after the tighening. Good luck though. PS : never heard of "memory steering" before; care to explain in detail?

Are you using full coilovers (come with strut) or cheap sleaves (no strut)

What kind are you using

noise

the noise you hear is coming from the spings itself on the coilovers. its not seated properly. try some 3/8 hose around the top of the coilovers where the spring meats the seat that it sits on. that should take care of youre boing problem hehe!
