need some help installing strutbar

Hey guys! I have the RRM K-bar, and i am having a problem. When i try to get it on it lines up alright, but when u look closely the screws are not lined up with the holes in the bar. So when i try to screw on the nuts they don't grab onto the screw. Is there something i can do to fix this. I can get 2 of the screw on, the top right one and the left lower one. Any help would be appriciated.

Place the bar in place with two holes firmly in. Take rubber mallet or use hammer WITH CUSHIONING TYPE MATERIAL like cardboard. tap gentle on side that just barely fits. It will tap down into place. Screw on nutz firmly..

That's how I got mine on.

Was about to say same thing, just put a towel over the side you can't get and hit it with a rubber mallet. I had to do that with my RMR strut bar to get the other side in place. Another option would be to lift the front end of your car with a hydraulic jack so the bolts line up better.

....try jacking up the car....
then step down on the tires...
the screw should go down ...and just line up the k-bar
to the screw...then do the other side...
that's what i did w/ my RMR strut bar

hey dood, i had the same problem..but luckily, my dad is a "dental technician" (not a dentist, but he makes crowns, bridges, etc.) so he had a grinder thing and i cut part of the screw. i trimmed the side about 1.5mm, and that worked right away.

if you've tried screwing them in too many times, they could be busted so u should check that too. and if all else fails (which i hope it won't) call Rob and he'll go through everything with u

good luck!

I tried that too, i grinded the screw all the way down to the main screw part. The problems is that the alignment is so far off that i can't get the socket in between the nut and the edge of the bar.

When you say grinding the screws, I hope you mean the bolts. That is what I did, file down the washer part of the bolt. You can also try having a friend bend the "k" part of the bar a little to help the screw line up over the hole, then try to fit your socket in. You could also try getting a thin walled socket, or even sand yours down. Good luck.

sorry, yes i meant the bolt. i did file down the "washer" part of it. I had 2 strong guys bending the bar while i was trying to screw it in. I went to almost 4 auto and hardware shops and there were no thin walled sockets (which i what i really really needed), all the sockets were the same width as mine. I went to a local shop "Top Notch Performance" and they said they would fix it for 45 bucks . I almost went off on their a**. GRRRRR. Anyways i am just gonna wait until i gets warmer and hope i can get it fixed without sending it back to RRM.
