Brake question

A couple of days ago my front right brake started squeaking when I was nearing completion of a stop (last 5 to 10 feet). I just got a chance to get the wheel off and with the car in neutral, I can't freely spin the rotor. I get the same grinding noise which I can now see is just the pad rubbing against the rotor.

It isn't a cyclical noise like only part of the rotor is hitting the pad, I can do a complete revolution and it scraped the entire way. When the car is in neutral I should be able to spin that freely, no? I haven't put the wheel on to check the drivers side to see how it works.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

if you still have the oem brake pads on then try taking off the pads and sanding the contact part with a finer sand paper, then re-lubricating it. My pads did the smae thing a while ago and i replaced them with duralast ones (NEVER AGAIN) Those squeaked worse than my stock ones due to the everlasting material......... Well I took those off, returned them and put my stock ones back on, but i just sanded the rotors and pads with a fine sand paper first, then lubed them and now they haven't squeaked since.

Try bleeding the brake system to help the caliper release more away from the rotor.
