All I have is an Injen Intake and a RRM muffler and when I floor it they sound awsome nice and deep and loud but when I let off the gas and its coming down it back fires a few times usually not very loud but its annoying none the less. Is this normal or should that not be happening?

That's why you have the farty sound. The resonator is there to drown out the sound of the engine. Remove it, and you'll get the high pitched fart sound. This is the reason why everyone on this site who has put straight pipe from the cats all the way back have this problem as well. I'd say put the resonator back on because it doesn't hinder performance that much. You can also get an aftermarket resonator from Flowmaster or Magnaflow, I believe.

This is due mostly to loss of back pressure. When I owned my Honda Civic I had a DC Sports header and cat-back and I had this problem as well. When I replaced the cat-back with the Apexi WS, the problem went away because the muffler was a tad bit more restrictive, but sounded a hell of a lot nicer.

As to why this is happening to you and no one else has really mentioned it, I don't know. Do you still have all your cats and the resonator in place?

Happens to me on occasion with just an intake, bored tb & cat-back. The problem should be remedied shortly.
